The San Pedro Mesquite Company offers consultation services to landowners, land managers, manufacturers, product designers, retailers and social food groups interested in mesquite and the solutions-oriented perspective. Our mission is to offer what we know to those who can contribute to a difference in the future of mesquite. We don't hold ourselves out to be experts in all arenas within which we can help. But we do know how to find those people who have the answers, then integrate our 27-year history with mesquite into their area of expertise.
Our services have been incorporated into land management studies by small landowners, large ranchers and land-holding non-profit institutions. In these types of studies we have helped to determine commercial values and volumes of the various types of mesquite present on particular parcels of land. These facts help the land manager scale their efforts and capital appropriately.
Product and manufacturing systems design relative to mesquite are of special interest to us. We feel that in order to bridge the gap between the wood manufacturing industry's history and the use of low grade logs such as mesquite, there has to be a unique sensitivity to the material combined with a solutions-oriented approach. We provide that to design teams, manufacturers and retailers who have price point restraints but still desire a mesquite product. A liaison between raw material supply, design and manufacture comes naturally to our company.
We have also consulted with government agencies in South Africa and start-up companies in Australia, assisting in the creation of business development programs for small rural communities. These programs are designed to turn the fear of mesquite infestation problems carried commonly by landowners in those countries, into commercially viable mesquite management programs. We assist by converting the mesquite "problem" into saleable programs and products produced by local people and industry.
We are also available for speaking engagements to your group with a very wide range of mesquite topics, and the ability to dovetail them into a variety of special interests. We call on many associates and experts, in fields as diverse as equipment manufacturers to botanists, in preparing a presentation designed especially for your group and purpose.
Retail Product Development
One of our greatest strengths is assistance in the development of retail product for the market place. Products range from kitchen accessories to dining tables to living room furniture. We have consulted and worked closely with designers, retailers and manufacturers desiring to provide the market a unique look using some form of mesquite.
Some of our clients have included Nieman Marcus, Ralph Lauren and Crate & Barrel. Our efforts provide companies with the knowledge that when they take a product to market, the material, material supply, material costs or manufacturing will not be the bottleneck to volume sales.
Not all development projects result in a marketable product. Mark-ups between material supply and retail sometime result in price points that keep projects from maturing through to market. Mesquite is more expensive than most domestic hardwoods and material supply channels are very different, so mainstream marketing strategies are often challenged. We understand these differences and can offer solutions that gear towards a successful and unique mesquite program and product line.
The most important aspect of what we do provide is information for sound management decisions surrounding the marketing of mesquite products.
Our rates for consultation and product development are very reasonable. We separate our fees into several categories:

We bill monthly with fees due on receipt of itemized statement.
